Thanks for playing with RGA this year. We would appreciate your response to the questions below. You may wish to use “RGA 2026 Summary” to share what you liked, did not like and suggestions for improvements. Please complete by October 5 so we can discuss at our “Annual Meeting” following the Rocky Point Tournament at Pizza John’s on October 10th.
RGA 2026 Summary:
RGA had 34 members in 2026, up 6 from 2025. Four members were new in 2026. Through 10 events, we averaged 17 golfers (roughly 16 members and 1 guest per round) usually set up 4 or 5 tee times. About 50% of the members have played in at least six of the ten events held so far (Tanglewood was cancelled because of rain and Flatbush cut to 13 holes). We do have four members ‘on the sidelines’ for some medical issues and we wish them the best and hope to see them in 2027.
Fees in 2026 averaged $ 59 down from $ 62 last year (this includes $ 5 per player for prizes). The tournament fees ranged from $70 at The Bridges and Rocky Point to $ 45 at Flatbush and $ 50 at Pine Ridge and Mt. Pleasant. Our unaudited financials show we had three tournaments net $35 to $70 over cost and three lost between $30 and $99. And for ten tournaments we show a net loss of $16. Some of this is our desire to “keep the math easy” round to $5 for the fee plus prizes. And some of this is the courses not having a firm fee schedule for the year when we call to book the event in February. So, we ‘take a shot’ with a dollar or two increase over the last year. Our bank account has about $3,500 so we remain in great shape financially.
This year we added Bay Hills as an attempt to play south of the Baltimore Beltway where we have 5 members that are regularly travelling 90 minutes to play with at most of our tournaments in Pennsylvania. Not sure if Bay Hills was a great venue, so let us know what you thought about Bay Hills and other course selections below.
We implemented a RGAgolfclub.com web site in 2021 to handle most information including schedule, entry forms, pairings, results, and historic information. We hope (and appreciate the feedback) that sending an email with a link to the website has been easier for most rather than ‘long lists’ to scroll through.
Bill and Drew appreciate all the help and support this year. We are happy ‘plodding along’ with most of the club tasks and appreciate help of Jim Wetzel with the website and Peter Dunbar with “an auditor’s eye’ not to mention those that helped with ‘day of tournament things like getting the closest to pin markers etc. If you want to help in roles like this, let us know or if you would want to join the club as an officer, we invite any member to inquire. Would be nice to have more officers that can step in should Father Time catch up with us! Tidbit—Bill and Drew have each been RGA members for 30+ years and officers for ~15 years!
